ABSTRACT
Wound is a break of continuity of a network because of injury or surgery. The development of current wound care nurses are to understand these products well as of the decision-making process in accordance with patient needs. Modern wound care management is adequate skills associated with wound treatment process that starts from the koperhensif assessment, appropriate intervention planning, action implementation, evaluation of the results found during the treatment and the systematic documentation of the results. This study aimed to obtain information about the factors related to the nurse's knowledge of modern wound care in the surgical treatment of General Hospital Langsa 2012. This research is kind of analytic cross sectional design study. Metode sample selection is total sampling that all nurses working in hospitals Surgical Treatment Room Langsa totaling 34 people. Istrumen used was questionnaire. Statistical analysis used Chi Square is significant with a value of α = 0.05. The results of the study. The results showed that 24 (70.6%) had less knowledge. The result showed that there was a significant association between training with the knowledge of modern wound care (p = 0.000), there was no relationship between education and knowledge of modern wound care (p = 0311), long working nurses with the knowledge of modern wound care (p = 0796 ). to the District General Hospital Langsa should provide training to nurses about wound care nurse who developed now so that the maximum in providing nursing care.
