ABSTRACT


How to improve the health  status of the universal precaution is one strategy that has been recommend by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in an effort to control infection and disease transmission in health facilities. Universal Precaution (UP) is a way of handling to minimize exposure to blood and body fluids of all patients regardless of infection status. In the United States avaible 57 cases of health worker affected nosokomial infections due to the risk of the job. Of the 57 cases, 24 cases of which (most) experienced by nurse. The purpose of this study was diterminan the relationship between knowledge and attitude of nurse with the use  personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in the room inpatient General Hospital  Langsa. This type of research is  analytic the kind of  cross sectional study desaign. The sampel in this study were nurse who served  in several space inpatient Langsa Regional General Hospital. Sampel Selection method is a propotional stratified random sampling. Instrument used are questionnaires. Statistical analysis use Chi Square is significant with a value of  α = 0.05. Results showed that 56 people (51.9%) have sufficient knowledge, the result showed that 102 people people (94.4%) nurse a positive attitude. The study found that there was no relationship between knowledge with the use Personal Protection Equipment (p value = 0.9068), the attitude of nurse with the use Personal Protection Equipment (p value = 0.9098). Parties  to the tacling Hospital infection Langsa Regional to active medicare and working safety back (K3) in the use Personal Protection Equipment
